most recent textile jewelry designs

Lately I've been experimenting with leather which I have not worked with too much. The leather is from this crazy, 80s, electric purple, 3 tiered skirt (now that is a lot of leather)! I bought it at a second hand shop a couple years ago thinking I could cut the bottom tiers off and make cute mini skirt. That plan did not work out so well, which is works out because now I have a lot of material to play with. :)

more vintage autumn fabrics to play with!

some of the fabrics I'm working with...I use the strips of fabric mainly for making my gift pods. The brown, yellow and cream colored seeling fabric is cut from a pair of vintage curtains! Such neat fabrics. :)

Native American Museum, NYC

I went to see the "Identity by Design Tradition, Change, and Celebration in Native Women's Dresses" exhibit at The Smithsonian American Indian Museum. The hide dresses were so neat, seeing all of the bead work and designs were inspiring. I didn't get any photos of the many dresses but did get some of the awesome moccasin boots with bead work. I was inspired to do some of my own bead work...
